In Cornwall for the week!! Weather has been lovely today, but now raining!

Sylvia will send out a new list, will try and make as big as possible for you, might mean leaving the hobbies column out?

Issy asked me to post on here for her, she has read the posting but cannot add.
She asked me to give you all her best wishes especially Sylvia hope the doctors can help you.

Ros, sounds like you have had a lovely time!!

Good advice regarding the cards Ann, I made that mistake last year!!!! If you want to 3d make sure you only use 1mm foam pads or silicone you can squidge down (technical term!!)

Keep warm and safe everyone

Hi Shemp, don't think i have spoken to you before but everyone is welcome to join. Jo who 'leads' the birthday girls group on GR is away at the moment but I am sure she will pick your post ip later and let you know how we operate.

I have done stitching cards in the past but find it a bit too slow for me and, as I get older, it makes my eyes tired, but some of them are lovely and so intricate. Do you use counted cross stitch?

I make all sorts from peel offs to those with bought toppers to homemade toppers, to using parts of old cards, stamping, punching, decoupage you name it. But there are those on here who make even more intricate ones, tea bag folding, iris folding etc etc.

Hi all,
Well I have got you all thinking again I see. One of you has 33 'girls' on their list, some 32 and others 34. What a dim lot we are!
Today it has been pouring with rain all day. My granddaughter, bless her, popped in for a little while. She was off for a meal with her father.
My new tablets for cystitis make me feel horribly sick, but I am trying to finish the "cure". It is only for 7 days!
Tomorrow the doctor is going to give me an injection in my right shoulder for the pain. In the afternoon Johan and I have anti-flu injections, so must give my left arm up.
I have had such a bad week that I talked it over with Johan over cancelling our forthcoming holiday. I said going in a taxi to the airport will be a disaster as I have to go to the toilet so often, then on the plane!
Apart from the sickness and pain today has not been so bad - toiletwise I mean.
I have to make an appointment with the hospital for X-rays of both my knees.
Now that was my medical analysis. I want to prick some cards out to take with me to my craft lesson on Tuesday afternoon.
Keep well everybody.

Hi, everyone.

I've jsut spent thelast hour catching up with 3 months posts! I hadn't ralised that it was so long since I was on here last,

Sylvia, I had 2 cataract ops within 6 weeks a couple of years ago, and can highly recomment them. I was so shortsighted all my life, and the consultant put in a new lens made up to my prescription. I can now read the titles at the botton of the TV screen while I'm in bed. I could hardly see the TV itself before the operation.

I'm well on the way to finishing my Christmas cards, but I have to make one for my sister-in-law in 2 weeks. They bought me the pergamon kit for Christmas, so I ought to make one for her. She's so much better at it than I am, which puts me off!

Love to all and welcome to Shemp.

Love

Anne

Hi all,
Thank you Anne for telling me about your cataract operations. I have read that this is one of the most successful of modern operations there is.
Today I had a hydrocortisone injection in my right arm. I knew the doctor was in the right spot when I nearly went through the roof with pain. I also had an anti flu jab in my left arm - well couldn't have it in the same arm, could I?
The weather is terrible, rain, winds, storm. I think we will be getting snow soon.
I have to have X-rays on my knees on Friday afternoon.
Anne, I am sure you can come up with that little extra just to make your card different from your sister in law. Just try. Sometimes when I cannot think of something I just leave it. I have been known to spend all Sunday cutting, gluing etc. and then nothing. The next day full of inspiration.
Anyway lots of luck.

For anyone who likes Raymond Briggs The Snowman character. The magazine, Quick cards mad Easy has this month got some Snowman pictures and stickers and a couple of decoupage pictures free in it. So far I have made 12 cards using them. I don't think it is just for those with a subscription.

Hi all,
No snow as yet but cold enough for it.
I kept myself warm today by baking. I made two brown and a sultana loaf and a Dutch apple tart for my neighbour and a butter cake - a bit like shortbread for us. I also made a large pan of tomato/vegetable soup with meatballs thrown in. Forget the diets, kilos etc. we must keep warm.
See y ou tomorrow.

It is with sadness that I must let you all know that John, the husband of Barbara in Cornwall passed away yesterday. She telephoned me earlier and spoke to my OH as I was out. Will ring her back in the morning as getting a little late now to call.

Barbara, sending you love and will be keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers at this very sad time.
