1933, can't remember the day of course, or even the year but the depression followed, not because I'd been born....... but I remember being brought up when things were hard for my then young parents aged 24 and 22 how they servived I don'y know but then there was worse to follow, must stop feeling down today must be feeling my age reminicing, sorry to steal the thread didn't intend to when I started.

Thanks Caz, we didn't actually go with out food but I remember cup of oxo and a buttie for a meal and tatter hash and again tatter hash, broth anything nourishing and filling I suppose. Mines October, is your Dad still with us? Had a rotten couple of weeks, daughters 50th this last week, on Mothers day 41 year old son came and told us he and his partner had split up, I guess I just don't like kids getting old or having probs and not being able to do anything about it. Roll on next week see what a mess can be made of that!
