You do Maddie? Is that council provided or is that your own? If its council then Im ringing them up in the morning asking where mine are lol !!

Anybody who had damage in the last windy gales should write down the date etc. Same for today. Your insurance company may very well check what the weather was like should you need to claim for any damage.

Used to work for a major insurance company and if they could get out of a claim then they would !! I remember typing one letter to a claimant saying could they not buy a rug or cut out a piece of carpet from under the settee/chair to either cover or patch the burnt hole from a fallen ember!! Honest its true. lol

Tina, just click on favourites which should be near the top of your screen and click add to favourites. When you want to open it again, just click on favourites and find it in the list.

Sue unfortunately, once it gets dark you won't see anything. I just found that out by clicking the tabs above the image to different times...it was just pitch black before 7 am.

Right I have sorted out Flower pots on Drive and tidied up my back garden and put things in the shed or weighted them down with bricks - only thing now is my wall. I could park alongside it to break it from the wind (theres a big crack in a V shape from a prang on Friday) as its only small about 2 foot high but if the wind comes from the other direction it could hit my car if I do that - so its my car or next doors ..... mind you I have knocked and told them about the crack - if they have any sense they will pull forward on there drive in case it does go so will miss their car.

Yes, it did say it was going to coincide with some of the highest tides of the year. Fingers crossed for those by the severn who get flooded at times like this (again).

Like an April day here. Sunny one minute and heavy showers the next. not cold though.

£15.00 from Wilkensons Tina. When I had my new carpet Jan before last I asked to keep the large offcuts cos I just new something would happen.

First party of the summer and as I cleared up I wondered why my coffee table had moved ......as I put it back to centre of room I saw the fag burn!!!!

Cut out a circle matched it to same place on off cut and superglued it in its place - its very hard to see the join - but you have to make sure pile is facing the right way when you do it - my dad taught me that.

Gosh the sun is soo strong I can hardely see my screen..... Wonder how quick it will turn I can see the clouds banking up over Ashton Court way.

I have been looking at the weather on some other site and they say it will start at about 12mph and get up to about 35mph here in London at about 4am. Maybe getting to 38mph before dying out some time tomorrow evening. Can just about put up with that as I have a real phobia about strong winds. Not going out until lunch time tomorrow so hope it has done its worse by then. Take care where ever you are.

Harpstrings Report 9 Mar 2008 17:19

Thanks Maddie - have never been into Wilkinsons - lots of people have said what good bargains they find in there etc. I must have a nosey meself! There's one in Union Street I can meander up to.

Well, what a good lass you are. I must admit when we had new hall, stair and landing carpet they took all the offcuts away - I was a bit short-sighted. lol.

Yes it has been really sunny here in Bristol - although I must say that the few clouds that were white fluffy ones are now turning into black blobs and if I look towards River Avon and the bridge can see the sky is very dark now and its obscurring the sun as its setting.

Silverlady -

I have not got a phobia with wind but do not like it one bit so (((((hug))) for you and hope that it wont be too bad where you are. xx
