Apparently it is going to affect those on the West coast mainly.
Not sure how many members are on the West coast, but do hope you all stay safe.

I often wonder if the 'Met Office' exaggerate, especially if they have been 'caught on the hop' in past months.

Hi Jenny - well its beautiful weather here in Bristol at the moment and I thought it was supposed to rain today - have got a line full of washing blowing in the wind drying wonderfully.

Have mentioned on another thread that perhaps this is the calm before the storm, but hopefully the wind will blow itself out over the water before reaching land and as you say hopefully it is exaggerated.

OH is not looking forward to tomorrow as he delivers to customers in Wales on a monday.

They just said on the news that the whole of Britain is in for a rough time, starting in the west tonight.

I think they may be erring on the side of caution, but back in 1987 they said the hurricane would not hit Britain, and it did, so perhaps its better that they lay on 'worst case' warnings so we are prepared for the worst rather than playing it down and leaving us in a mess.

The BBC have admitted that following the 1987 hurricance they now err on the side of caution when forecasting severe weather, so perhaps it won't be as bad as they are warning

my hubby works on motorway, and the met office is used to forcast the weather, there usually 8/10 times right.which is fairly good odds as no-one cane predict the weather,if winds come in from another direction the forcast can change that quick.just hope there wrong this time ,and were all safe.xx

The weather is beautiful here in Tynemouth also. Looking outside its looks like a summers day, but cold.

Christine, have not been to Borth for 25years. We always took our children camping there in the 70's & 80's. Many a happy time spent in the sea until 8pm. Oh the wonderful memories of when my first Hubby was alive and the children were so little.

Hi Jennie
Can you remember where abouts you went camping in Borth? I could prob have a look see if its changed much. Having said that the only main changes in Borth have been the local store/post office and the RNLI house are new buildings. Borth is still very much in the 1950s thank goodness.

Hi
Just got back from a bracing walk along BLACKPOOL sea front. Sunny, cloudy, spots of hail, dark clouds, rainbow and the River Dance ferry has keeled right over onto it's side.
Home now tying the cover back over the garden furniture and putting the movable objects away.
Have a comfortable, cosy night

Still lovely and bright here, but turning colder.

Hubby has excelled himself today. Tidied back garden up, (which is like a building site at the mo) moved anything that might blow away. Been to the tip as we forgot to put our recycling bin out, and believe it or not mowed the lawn for the first time this year, shame cause we had loads of Daisies.
We are worried about the tiles on our roof as a lot of the concrete holding them down has come off during the gales a fortnight ago.

Christine, the last holiday we had before Hubby died was a caravan holiday at Bryn Owen, because Hubby was too ill for camping. I will never forget that holiday nor the children. Dave had his walking stick and pretended to poke Jelly Fish with it and chase the girls with it, lol.
The camping site was just down the lane from Bryn Owen on the left hand side. There was a little brook that the children loved. Oh for those days again.

Jenny a little tearful now.

xx
