I work on my tree or do family history research 3-4 times a week


what was the most exciting bit of family history research you have found.

Several interesting finds on my husband's side as well as mine. A bigamist, a murderer, a suicide and several smugglers. The smugglers are well documented. The Little Common Gang & The Battle of Sidley Green & The Aldington Gang from Kent, the film Dr Syn,The Scarecrow was based on them.

Although my husband has in his direct line, the rector of Withyham,Sussex from the 1700's who was educated at Brasenose College. Oxford University .

Do you have many "Brick Walls" in your tree ?

Plenty! 3 lots of gr grandparents of Irish descent and 2 illegitimate grandparents (gr and gr gr) with no father in sight.

Do you like watching reality TV?

Do you find Saturday TV boring ?

Yes, apart from "Who wants to be a Millionaire"


Do you think Television was better 10 years ago?

Outdoors Hopscotch, Indoors reading, I was hooked on the Famous Five, I still prefer a good book to television.

Did you use to enjoy the variety shows that they had on Saturdays?

Yes, I watched one show while in labour before the home birth of our 2nd son.


Did you belong to the ABC minors as a child ? I remember going from about the age of 8 and much later on my sons used to go on a saturday morning.

Sorry but I've never heard of the ABC Minors!

Do you shop at one particlar food store or do you shop around ?

Do the weekly shopping on a Friday night at Morris*****, and If I can't get every thing I want I go round the corner to Sainsb**** I prefer their fruit & veg.



where do you live? in the country, ?at the coast or in the middle of a town?

I live in a Town in Herts.

Have you ever been inside a Toys R Us Shop?

yes a long time ago

do you like visiting markets to shop?

yes I do. although I haven't been market shopping in a long time.

Do you find Leather furniture comfortable to sit on?

I like the look of leather but find it extremely hard to sit on it as I am not quite 5 ft and my feet don't touch the floor so I tend to slide down the chair.




As a child I had a dog as a pet , do you have any pets?

I don't like cakes,hubby does and buys what he likes, but he does prefer home baked.

Do you think Vitorica Beckhan is too skinny ?

Stephen Fry, because he is intelligent and has a good sense of humour .

Which sports personality do you prefer?

For the contacts and to be able to help others with their trees. I have a lot of cd roms for Kent & Sussex going back to the 1500's and they are much more reliable than the IGI.

Do you live very far from where your ancestors lived ?

This looks like fun.

When we first planned to move to the countryside from London little did we know I was coming back to my roots. Discovered as my family tree began to grow.

Do you prefer town or country?

Country, for the first 6 years of my life I lived just outside Tenterden, Kent. I would love to live back there.


Have you ever considered moving to another country to live?

Occasionally on a particularly good holiday we've been somewhere I thought I'd be happy to live in. Tuscany for example, such an easy going area plus good food and wine and beautiful surroundings. And the Dordogne too maybe, similar reasons and very verdant - but we discovered why. In the summers they have about a 10 day to 2 week cycle of sunshine moving on to oppressive heat relieved by thunderstorms and downpours which in themselves are quite spectacular, bit like the ones we've been having recently.
