coal mines were probably shut down for one reason or another. The Radstock coalmines have only recently been closed down this year or last and think that they were the only ones remaining.

There were coal mines in Radstock Bath.

Will have to research coal mines now to see if there were any slappers down the mines.

Summer, just looked at map and there is a place called Coalpit Heath near Frampton, so may have been a mine there.
