Where have you found them at all? None of the census? Have you checked if dad died and the kids are entered under step dads name? |
|||

Yes you are correct. First two born in Brighton and the rest born in Hove. The mother Sarah A Martin was born in Rottingdean Brighton if that helps anyone. Sorry, I should have put that on in the first place!!! Thank you anyway Reg |

That's just it. I haven't been able to find them at all. I've tried putting in John first and then Sarah but can't find them!! |

If this is Josephine's birth, she was indeed born after the census date |

He died in about 1911. Not too sure of his occupation. |

You must have them somewhere to give the names and dates/places? Can you tell us exactly what you have got please? |
|||

Yes Reg. That was what I thought. That still leaves 5 siblings together. It's giving me a big headache. Are the census records complete? Would it be worth going to Hove library to look? |

My grandmother gave me the names. They would be her aunts and uncles. |

Could these possibly be them? Sarah is a widow in 1901. |

The dates of their births - the parents, particularly dad is quite mature for a first marriage? |
|||
|
Krystyna♥ | Report | 16 Nov 2007 12:18 |
There was another sibling born in 1903 so Sarah wouldn't have been widowed. |
|||

Krystyna♥ | Report | 16 Nov 2007 12:20 |
That is her full Maiden name. She had no middle name given to her. Her mother was born Sarah Ann Mockford. The reason why I want to see the census is to confirm where John Martin was born and his correst birth year. |

The fact that another child was born in 1903 does not actually prove that Sarah was not widowed.......... |

Have you got the marriage cert for Sarah and John? |
|||
|
Krystyna♥ | Report | 16 Nov 2007 12:34 |
The child was born Mildred Agnes Martin. She was not illigitimate and Sarah died a Martin as it states that on her headstone. |
