Teresa With Irish Blood in Me Veins

Teresa With Irish Blood in Me Veins Report 6 Jul 2012 21:04

I Googled

'County Dublin Towns and Registration Districts'

and found a list which you can copy, save and print.

Helps to know which part of Dublin County a Town's Registration District is in.

Haven't googled other Counties though!

It is so very difficult to find details of my Grandmother, BRIDGET DOWLING. She was born in Dublin during the late 1890.ss and married William SYME from Clackmannanshire, Scotland. Grandad Syme was a member of the British Army and my Father James St James Syme was boprn in 1924 at Tralee.
If you can help me in any way to trace any relations I may have in Dublin, then I would be GREATLY obliged to you.
Regards,
John SYME

John, please look in http://www.irishgenealogy.ie/ for her baptism:
it does not give her exact date of birth nor baptism but does give the names of her parents: http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/details/2f5c840039243

Her marriage certificate will give further details of use to you.

I have come to the dreaded BRICK WALL!
Patrick LANNAN (c1770) married to Catherine Maher(c1775) R Catholic.
I have their son Martin c 1790 and a possible brother Michael b.1799 (Wexford)....are there any more siblings ? and Patrick/Catherines parents.?

Martin Lannan married Anastasia Griffen, lived in Swiftsheath Kilkenny.
Son Patrick married Bridget Farrell, I have most of their children and details of migration to Australia. Again I am looking for Patrick's siblings and also Bridget's siblings and G parents(Father Martin Farrell/Mother Anastasia ?Breen) also lived in Swiftsheath Kilk. Anastasia Breen may have been born in Carlow, however I am not 100% sure of her surname.

I have been told that LANNAN is derived from LEONARD but I am not sure about that at all.

It has been very difficult trying to find John Fury and Mary Ann Haley. These are very common names and there are many of them. I have tried some of the web sites with no luck. Thank you for all your hard work. All I have is approximate bds for both. It doesn't help that John changed the spelling after coming here because the nuns told him to. They both moved several times and seemed to always miss the different state census periods. After joing genes last week it has been amazing the amount of knowledge the members have and SHARE. Judy

Having difficulty trying to find any information on my great-grandfather, James Fullarton, born about 1821 in Derry. I know he was in England by 1851 and married my great-grandmother in 1853 but I'm trying to learn more about his Irish background.

His mother was Agnes (maiden name unknown), born in Derry about 1790 and his father was, I believe, John Fullarton.

Hello everyone, hope someone can help or point me in the right direction. I am researching my family name and have had some success at finding birth certifcates in the Co down area, Kilbroney. but really struggling when it comes to death certificates. my family name is Sloan, I have my great gandfather x 3 marrying Alice morgan in 1852 aug 2 in Newry & Mourne. I have found at least 2 sons, Charles and john. from here it gets confusing as they seem to move around alot, Charles marries ann white in liverpool in 1884 & has a son called william born in dublin in 1888. in 1901, 1911 they are living back in liverpool but in 1916 william (b1888) is married in newry in 1916.

I will try not to confuse anyone, i have death certificate for william sloan (1888-1945) & his father Charles (died 1916) however the rrst of the family who i assume are in Ireland I can not find any death notices. does anyone know the best place to look for death certificates?

Thanks to anyone who offers some help. :-)
