Thanks for that, Irene, though I ditto Lesley's comments: how do we find this? Update: I've found it and done it! Thank you so much. Your directions are spot on. Lesley: click on 'start' and then 'all programmes' - you'll find Microsoft Works in the long list. Just follow Irene's instructions and it's cinch. Kind regards Patricia |

I have done this tree for some of my grandchildren just putting their name in the first colume filling in our side of the family details for them and they can ask the other side of their families to help fill in the details they know. They have enjoyed it and it may help them in the future not having to work as hard as I did to find details of my ancestors. Also filled them in and sent them with birthday cards as a little gift for family members. Good luck Irene |

Another little tip when filling in this tree, if all the info your put in is not in heavy print like the rest of tree highlight that section and click bold. It will all look the same then. Regards Irene |

Thanks, Irene. I'll do that, as I think it'll look better highlighted. It's a nice idea, too, to include inside birthday cards. I bet people are chuffed when they receive them. Patricia |

Hi Irene. Thanks for that. If you only have Microsoft Word, you can do similar. 1. Open Microsoft Word. 2. 'click' on Insert. ( window will open ) 3. 'click' on or go to Picture ( small window will open ) 4. 'click' on Organization chart. From here you can add boxes,( insert shape ) format different charts, etc.... Tony...:>)) |

Tony , Thank you for your instructions found it easy, should be very useful.Didn't know I had this facility,I'm afraid I'm one of those who don't like to start clicking on things in case I lose everything or can't find my way back.I'm off now to have a play around. Daisy |
