Christine No luck with Cissy yet, maybe Lucy will have better luck. I did find John though: RG12/2616, Folio 89, Page 27 30 Orwell(?) Street, Grimsby Esau Patch, Head, 60, Dock labourer, born Somersetshire Elizabeth Patch, wife, 58, born Somersetshire John Lee Johnson, son, 34, Fisherman, born Lincolnshire Eliza Jane Johnson, wife, 33, born Wales John Esau Johnson, son, 13, born Grimsby Thomas William Johnson, son, 10, born Grimsby Charles Henry Johnson, son, 8, born Grimsby Colleen ? Johnson, daur, 4, born Grimsby Joseph Harry Johnson, son, 4, born Grimsby Henry Everett, lodger, 25, Fisherman, born Norfolk. I think the Patchs must be Grandma and Grandpa, and John Lee and Eliza must be Mum and Dad, with 5 kids. Hope that helps. |

Suzanne thank you very much for both look-ups you have been very helpful. I think the 2nd Edith would be Ethel as I found Ethel Louise Cupid born in Feb 1891. My mums family knew about the name change but not why and from which one. Sounds like there could be some skeletons in the cupboard Thanks Again very much appriciated Good luck in your own searches Chris |

Hi Suzanne Many thanks for the info, this Cissy is proving very elusive, we know there is a 'French Connection' somewhere in this family and she is the closest I've found. Once again, many thanks for your time and trouble. Chris |

Hi Lucy I think it is a middle name, we think there is a 'French Connection' somewhere in this family so I'm guessing it comes from her mother. Thanks Chris |
