Hi Yvonne Thanks for looking for me. I don't know what the Greys are upto they keep on disappearing. Never mind. Could i be Cheeky and ask for another look up. I'm looking for Frank Grey Living in Bonby. I think he was a farmer. He was there in 1878 so i hope he was there in 1876. Thanks again Jane

Hi Jane, There was no specific mention of Frank. However under the commercial listings was Gray and Ellis - Machine Owners. Hope this helps. Von

It may be nothing to do with it, but Bassingham isn't on the Lincs 1861 census. I don't think it's ever actually been in Notts but it's only a couple of miles away. Perhaps Robin Hood may have it on his Notts census.

Hi Barry, Like you, I too was surprised not to find your James Gent, shoemaker, in Bassingham, as all the other shoemakers are listed. After checking on the 1881 Census I found a James Gent in Bassingham (wife Eliza) who was a cordwainer. Could this be your man? Von
