Thanks for the link Siobhan. I checked it out on the search engine, no visible way of finding out if he worked there but I'll keep trying. Any other places I might try? Did you come up with any names, Pat? I really appreciate both of you helping me out with this. Since I'm in Canada I'm a little lost when it comes to all things Brum. Major kudos to you both. |

if you go to the link i gave you and then click on the link for the map from that page, you will see soho road, whitehall road is just north of it, so if you use the north arrow to scroll up the map you will see where whitehall road is in reference to it |

Hmmm, I see it. Looks kind of far from where he may have lived, unless he lived at the end of Whitehall. I'm going to contact the people at Digital Handsworth to see if they know how to contact anyone that might have staff records for Soho Works. See if we can nail old Georgie down. Thanks Siobhan! |

Hi Amanda Unfortunatly there are that many companies that it could be. But Samuels the jewellers have been manaufacturing in brum for many years, this is a strong contender, but it is so hard unfortunatly to come up with a definate match. The best option for you is to contact a Warwickshire look up group that will be able to help you with your quest maybe they can check electral rolls for the surrounding streets and come up with some company names, Good luck with your search. Regards Pat |

Pat and Siobhan, thank you so much for helping me out. I'll check Samuels and see if I can come up with anything as well. I learned a lot from you both today, it's given me a lot of leads to go on as well as neat pictures to look at! Thank you again, you've been absolutely great! Amanda |
