It's not a rellie, but there was a lady on the TV news this week who is 110, lives in Edinburgh and aparently doing very well!!

Hi, my longest living rellie was my great grandfather born in 1883 and died in 1987.104 yrs old. His wife my great grandmother died at the age of 98. julie

My(Paternal) Grandma was born in 1883 and died in 1975...just after her 93rd Birthday,,,she was very active but sadly complications do to a fall were the cause of her death. My Mum is here with me now and she will be 91next March. Kate

hi my grandma was born 9/12/1884 and died 6/8/1988, she as far as i know has been the eldest so far on her fathers side i hav,nt looked at her mums side yet marcie

My gt gt grandfather was born in 1800 and died in 1885, my gt grandfather born 1836 died 1929 age 93 and one of his brothers born 1837 died 1930 age 92, my grandmother born Nov 1895 died July 1996, her sisters reached the ages of 89, 94, 97, and 93 respectively, her oldest brother was born in 1864 and died in 1950. All from the COVENTRY branch of my family tree and all proved. Definitely something in the genes. Michele in Haslemere

There was a lady who lived in my local area, a few years back, who held the claim of being Britain's eldest lady. I remember her appearing on the local news a couple of times. I'm certain she was over 110 years old.

My G grandmother died in 1997 aged 94, a few weeks off her 95th birthday. She had a sister who died in 1990 aged 95 - the relative I knew born in the 19th century. And there is another sister still living at 98 (b. 1905). This GG aunt has proved very useful in obtaining information about more distant ancestors. I hope I have some of their log-lived blood!

My ggg grandmother, Mrs Ann Baker, lived to 104 - she died in 1914. She got her telegram from the then King, Edward VII (I have a copy of the telegram but had to write to Buck Palace to confirm it was genuine as their web site says they started sending them in 1917 - turns out some were sent prior to that date they're just not sure who to) I also have a copy of an interview with her from the local paper on her 100th birthday which makes for fascinating reading From the same side of the family there are lots of 80 and 90 year olds - I'm not entirely sure if I want those genes though - Mrs Baker was a widow for 22 years (her husband only lived to 81!) and my Granny for nearly 40... (altho I don't think she minded too much)

My great great grandfather was standing outside his shop in Aldeburgh High Street in WWII when retreating German bombers dropped their remaining bombs prior to leaving, and killed him. He was 90, and his shop was the only place demolished! My grandmother is 99, but unfortunately not very well.
