Thomas Hicking Lost at Sea WW1 I have only just found out about this man.I dont have any details of his age or what regiment he was in. I will remember him and every other person who lost their lives fighting in Wars today.I have bought poppies for my 2 young sons (aged 4 and 6) and I have explained them what it means Anna

Family members who lost their lives in defence of their country. My husband's uncle: Private Isaac Solomon Schwartz 4th Bn. Royal Fusiliers who died aged 24 on Friday, 4th June 1915. Remembered with Honour - Bedford House Cemetery, Zillebeke, Ieper, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. My great uncle: Private George B Dowthwaite 12th Bn. Durham Light Infantry who died aged 29 on 6th August 1916. Remembered with Honour - Thiepval Memorial. My uncle: Boy 1st Class Arthur Ballard H.M.S.Hood, Royal Navy who died aged 17 on 24th May 1941. Remembered with Honour - Portsmouth Naval Memorial. For these men and all who gave their tomorrows WE WILL REMEMBER THEM

Pt 20163 Henry Gibson Harrison, 12 Bn Durham Light Infantry died age 31 crossing the Piave river in Italy and is buried in the Tezze British Cemetery. He left behind his wife Margeret and 5 children which included my grandmother Florence who was only 4 months old. Remembered with love and respect

My Great Grandfather Henry Falkus Royal Marine Light Infantry died WW1 March 1915 Service No CH10684 husband to Lucy and father to Harry, and my grandmother Marjorie, (still being carried) and never seen by him. Tracing the family tree has found many servicemen in my family all of whom will be remembered. Sally

Hi, We had a minute silence with the radio at 11am this morning and although I work alone frome home I still observed it. Where would we be today without all those gallent men and women. I was one of the lucky ones my Father returned. Anne-Marie

I didnt lose anyone during ww1 or ww2 but my husbands grandfather served in ww1 as did my mothers eldest brother both died as a result years later. None should be forgotten we should always remember we owe them so much.

Having started this thread, I would like to thank all those that have contributed over the last few days. I would just like to add that the pledge is to remember them every day and not just in November. Thank you once again but most of all to the FALLEN Bob Wood
