Hello Karen. Go to your homepage and click on 'edit'. This will prompt you for your administrator name and password; enter these. This will now bring up the 'edit' mainpage. Click on 'GEDCOM' and at the bottom of that page, it gives you the option of loading it. All you do is reload your new one and it automatically replaces the old one. |

Joined it yesterday - had an email thsi morning to say my Gedcom has loaded ok. What a brilliant site. Like others I wanted to make a web page, but steered clear because I wasn't sure how to go about it. Now here it all is. Thanks for the tip. Pauline |

Me too! Have you found the 'demo' page yet? It's brilliant, with loads of extra ideas. The user ID is 'demo' - just shows what you can do! |

Malcolm - if you're having problems, put your question on the TribalPages Forum page. Either one of the other members or the Tribal Pages Support Team will answer it. I've solved all my little problems that way! |

Have just wasted about an hour trying to upload my gedcom file onto this site. . . either it says it is "connecting to TribalPages" & nothing happens for 10 minutes or I get the "can't connect to this page" message from windows. . . have logged in and out repeatedly. . .tried last night too & it appeared to have worked but I never got a confirmation e-mail & my webpage just says there is no-one on my tree. . .does this happen often? Isn't it fantastic! I could play around on it for ages. And it's really easy to use. Jeanette |

It is very easy Karen. This is an absolutely brilliant site and I would recommend it to anyone due to its simplicity, the look, the security features, the speed etc etc |

Hmmm. . . website has finally appeared over 24 hours after I uploaded it. Lots of errors in upload - 20+ (out of 180) individuals had been changed from dead to living; site doesn't recognise christening dates; dates of birth/death entered as being "about", "before" or "after" a certain year have just been converted to a definite date; places of birth etc and notes had disappeared. Looks quite nice, but gencircles was quicker to upload (a matter of minutes) and all the gedcom data was accurately transcribed. Gill |

Karen - no you don't need if a scanner if you've already got digital images on your PC. Of course, if you haven't, then you do! Gill - sorry to hear your tales of woe! I think you've just been unlucky for some reason. I've always been able to upload my tree in minutes and haven't come across any of the errors that you mentioned - although, no, TribalPages doesn't take account of Christening dates. Which software are you using for your master tree? I'm not sure why it would be incompatible if it can usually upload/download a GEDCOM file... but it seems that there is something rather odd. |
