Sorry about this but it is Easter. I can't resist poetry Val. I enjoyed your poem so much The way the subject you did touch About our Will and his tree I wonder did he get it free With over 40000 in his line I wonder how he found the time To do in such a short time frame To even prove correct one name |

I put it on earlier..... it was Genealogydotcom but GC removed the dot. lol One of these lists I tried out for US. The trouble is I think William believes it. I have never mae one contact yet to any ones tree. 1 or 2 have tried to link to mine but when I asked questions about theirs, they never seem to come back to me. Be very afraid. lol |

Back in 1998 he wasn't doing nearly so well...... "I am researching (and my oldest traced relative/date is): All listed families eventually emigrated to America from England: TUCKER (John Heamer Tucker @1800, Instow, Devonshire, England via Wales) WIGHT (John Wight @ 1550, Hareby, Lincolnshire, England) LOTT (Engelbert Lodt@ 1575 , Reynerwout, Drenthe, The Netherlands via) HOLMES (John Alan or Alexander Holmes @1850, New York) STUART (John Stuart @ 1700, Kilmarnoch, Scotland via Ireland) I am sort of "missing" one key ancestor. His name was Jan (or John) Lott (or Lott, II or Jr.). He was born about 1776 and was a fur trapper in the West (that is now the Midwest) and he was married to a Seneca Indian Princess (Iroquois Nation of the New York area, Chief's daughter) John family was from Flatbush Brooklyn (the family having emigrated to America in the early 1600s). He supposedly died and was buried in Champagne, Illinois in 1852, but phone calls to their Histroical Society has turned up nothing. (He might have been buried in the woods for all I know)! Thanks for any assistance, William Thomas Tucker, III" |

I was sent this same story as part of a newsletter from genealogy(.)com, as a so called genuine genealogy site, i can't believe that they would put their name to such tosh. What this guy is describing is impossible. 4000 in a month and no brick walls, no illegitimates. What about Cromwell times when there was no records. Parish records that he could read every word and date, i don't think so! I went on another site on the net and put a few of my names in the search box, you know the sort that list every surname in another persons tree and there among them is the Queen Mother. Now that i don't believe. |

He must have just added everyone's tree to his , shall we do that we could all thenhave a rest. But where is the fun, we'd have to find something else to do then if we could all get backto Adam! I sympathise with those welsh Joneses I think I have two sets of Thomases marrying into each other. Impossible to tell who is who! KIM |

Well there you go. I saw it on Genealogy.com. I referred to Adam and Eve at the beginning as I have posted on here quite a few times that if you put Adam and Eve in a search engine, there are a few who claim to be descended from them and justify it as well!!!!!!!!!!!! My point was that we need to be careful how we link to other trees and to check all sources, otherwise we will all end up with trees like William's. I worked out that he must have found 130 names a day and as some of you have said it takes a year sometimes to just find one. On one of my branches I can go back tenuously to 1605 but cannot prove for sure, so 1752 is the furthest I can go at the moment. I would much rather have that, as I am sure we all would, than a tree which is like Willliams. |

I have seen a tree either on Ancestry or Genealogy that claims to trace all the way back to Adam and Eve!! No kidding! Think of all the genealogical data recorded in the Bible! Meanwhile the rest of us struggle with 1837 etc. Many human fathers, One divine! Easter greetings to all. |

Little Tommy Tucker, Sing for your supper: What shall I sing? White bread and butter. How shall I cut it Without any knife? How shall I marry Without any wife? I would, if I could; if I couldn't, how could I? I couldn't without I could, could I? Could you without you could, could ye? could ye? could ye? You couldn't without you could, could ye? Oh that I were where I would be! Then should I be where I am not; But where I am, there I must be, And where I would be I can not. |

Hi All. Oh and William the III too. I was in need of a good laugh when I got up this morning! Thank you William No.III. I could have done the same if I'd adopted a phone book! Your declared info goes back PRE-records time so you must have a pile of stone tablets in your filing system. UNBelievable! There's someone from the Guiness Book of Records on their way to you right now. Jim |

A Robert de Clayton came over with William the Conqueror in 1066. I think I will put him in my tree and not bother with the links. It's bullshit. Bob |
