Sorry you are so despondent Kylie, I have been trying to find my grandson and got no where for months and months now just yesterday I have had an e-mail from a kind lady who lives in the area and she and her relatives will see what they can do to help. I changed my Thread. I had been posting my grandsons name. I made this lastest contact because I posted the name of the place he may now be living in. Can you change the emphasis of your search. What was his job? Do you know what he was working on or where he was working when you were born. Companies keep records of past employees. Does your Mum have any copy of his Ins. No Did he drive a car/ Drivers Licence etc Who were his insurers,does your Mum know Did he have any special interests? Did he belong to a club Have you got the idea. You need to really widen your search areas. Sit down with your Mum or Gran if it s possible and write down everything you can about what was known about him. Do you know any of his relatives,can you ask them or anyone he worked with. There are tracing agencies,but I don't know how much this would cost you. I have just paid a detective £80 to look for my grandson There is someone offering look ups of Living Current people. Maybe he can help. Just don't give up love. Good luck Hugs Rose

Thanks Rose. My Mum and my father's relationship was what we would call a "fling". He was an englishman working in Australia at the time - by the time Mum found out she was pregnant he had moved on to Sydney. I have asked his employers in Sydny for help, but they say no - privacy laws etc. Plus it was 32 - 33 yrs ago and the company changed owners. I am about to try and see if I can get anywhere with his employers in Western Australia. My Mum knew very little about him really - no DOB, no place of birth apart from in the UK somewhere. He knows that Mum was keeping the baby (me!!), and she sent him a letter and photo, but we don't know if he ever received it. So you see - I'm using all the angles I can. Having to search in Australia and UK!!! Anyone who knows a Ray Little, tall, dark haired mechanic who fancied himself as quite a good singer please let me know!!!!

Yep - I've done that. No luck yet - some people haven't replied to my emails though, so I live in hope. My UK helper has narrowed down my search over there, so some gentlemen will be receiving a letter from me in the next few days. Fingers are crossed!!

Yes I have. So many R Littles in the phone book!!! I'm heading into the electoral office tomorrow to hopefully access their records. We don't have any sort of online access over here for the electoral roll, I've discovered!!

There seem to be a lot of Littles on the first town I tried. Have you tried finding any work mates he may have had or neighbours. I don't know about in Oz but here you can look at old electors rolls and even if he wasn't registered to vote others in the same house may have been. You could advertise for anyone who worked in the company when he was there who might remember something. Quiz your mum she may know more than she realises - school, family- brothers/sisters/ only child, aunts, uncles, cousins, whereabouts in the Uk north south east west, england wales, scotland etc. Reason for coming to Oz - how long he'd been there when your mum met him. Names of any friends he hung around with - you might be able to find them who might shed more light on his background. Have a look at marriage and birth registers after you were born - you may find he has other children. Don't give up. Sorry but whoever suggested Traceline - you cannot use it if you were adopted. There is also a problem with Traceline where it can be utilised - they write and ask if the person is willing to receive a letter - if they don't reply or say no then that's the end of it. Have you tried leaving a message on Lookupuk*com or Missing-you*net and perhaps as well on a Little surname messageboard at Rootsweb - worth a try. I found a message on Lookup nearly 12 months after it had been put on.

Hmmm - haven't really given much thought to New Zealand as yet....I need to rule out UK and Australia first!! Or get some leads!! I can't seem to search the LookupUK site - I have been on there before and left a message though. Same with the missing-you site. Believe me I've quizzed my Mum!!!!
