Thanks for this Peter. If you mouse over where it says 'View' you can figure out the family groupings from the line number, sort of like the Census Decoder and not use credits. Crista

Lou In the past I have spoken to 1837online staff about losing units after a certain amount of time and they assured me that if I contacted them and asked for an extension they would accomodate. Haven't put them to the test yet but it might be worth knowing in the future. Kate :)

There might well be mistranscriptions still. I found (even though not paid to look at the image) my CHISWICK ancestors under the surname CHADWICK. Chloe

Just went to have a look and searched for a St Pancras family - not there :-(. Think it's a bit steep to charge 3 units per view though, and then another 3 units if you want the image as well. Think I might wait for Ancestry to come up with the goods. Pauline

Alison it's 1837 online, Kas if you have an address I have 1861 Census for Marylebone I'll look it up for you, but I can't search surname. Keith

Just used site and not only found G.Father who has been a real problem, but he's with Mum, Dad and Sister this is brilliant. I don't think its complete yet as can't find a G.Father who I know is in Marylebone because I have the CD. Came back to do a bit more after a rest. Typed in Chowns as unusual surname and found Elizabeth - know she is mine because born in Farnham Royal, Bucks - luckily for me she didn't marry so has kept maiden name. Guess what - she is a cook in a household in Baker Street, Marylebone, literally a few minutes' walk from where I used to work!!! nell

After my initial excitement - and having to buy more units - I've found it a bit hit and miss. Also when you check the image its easy to see that Cobham is Cobham for example and not Cotham - rather daft as it is given as birth place 2 lines down from someone else who is definitely Cobham. nell

Just popped in to have a look. Found some new rellies but some old ones for which I have certificates weren't there and they are London. Like the variants option. My Mepham was mis-transcribed as Meopham. Linda

What you thought he may like dressing up, Kaz?? Irene, you buy units - £5 for 55. Usually I use it for just looking up b, m, d refs to send off for certs. But they have just added the 1861 census today. I dont know how complete it is yet.

I have never joined 1837 - how much would it cost to search for a family????? Do you need a lot of info first before you can find the ancestors. Irene
