Probably sounds like a dumb question but google gave me sites for Software companies or places in Baltimore and the Genuki Index of UK Place names doesn't have Pimlico listed! I'm still struggling to find my BIBB family in 1851 and have now unearthed another daughter born 1852 Pimlico. Wondered if I'm even looking at the right census for them? Thanks Lou

Lou, are you too young to remember the brilliant Ealing comedy 'Passport to Pimlico'?

Heather 'Fraid so! Everyone else, thank you. Looks like I'm looking at the right census but still can't find them. I was hoping someone was going to tell me it was Kent or Sussex or something. Back to the drawing board! Lou

Just looked at my road map and there are also Pimlico's in Lancs AND Northants About half way between Banbury and Milton Keynes in Northants Just to the north of Clitheroe in Lancs. Just goes to show we shouldn't take things for granted. I just ASSUMED the only one was in London. At my age I should have known better. Thanks Germaine, and welcome to the madhouse.

Hi All! I only went to mop the floors and load the washer cos I was losing the will to live waiting for this site to do anything today! Serves me right for getting a burst of domesticity....! Ok...I have George Bibb born c1827. Marries Sarah Ann Hooper 1850 Kensington. Sarah Ann born 1852 in Pimlico, the 3 following children (all boys) born Marylebone. Mother Sarah's birthplace given as Marylebone. George has the audacity to die in 1858 so can't find him in the 1861 census. He could have waited! No baptism located for Sarah Ann. The eldest boy is born 1854 but they're not at that address in 1851 cos someone has checked for me. George is a Tailor so I thought Trade Directories but nothing so far! Lou

Grrr....not sure it IS this site, AOL keeps kicking me out so apologies if I appear to keep running off! Penny Yes, that's Sarah. Elizabeth Ann is married to the youngest Bibb son, George Hooper, and he's at sea for that census. Sarah is still in Marylebone for the 1891. Dies in 1894. Christopher George Bibb died aged 2 in 1856 and Richard born 1856 died 1881. No sign of daughter Sarah Ann after the 1861 census, she could have died as well or married. Lou

Hi Germaine Welcome to the madhouse! I didn't realise there were so many either and I'm hoping that assuming its the one in London isn't sending me on a wild goose chase! Lou

Lou, if the other references are Marylebone etc then Pimlico London is your best bet as it's almost next door. Be warned, Pimlico is the Bermuda Triangle of London. My ggrandfather was born there but I can't find his baptism anywhere, yet his siblings born in the surrounding districts are all recorded! Daisy

Thank you Daisy! Look what I uncovered the last time you and I went on a hunt for one of my rellies....LOL!!! I don't know what to try next! Try and find daughter Sarah Ann in 1871 would be a good move, see whether her birthplace is consistent with the Pimlico stated on 1861. She definitely wasn't baptised at the same place as her brothers but if she wasn't born in Marylebone then she probably wouldn't have been. They were definitely in Marylebone by March 1854 cos I've been lucky to get birth dates for the three boys on their baptism records. Where's Kensington in relation to Pimlico/Marylebone? I'm still baffled as to why they married there! Lou

Will take a look at it all in a minute Lou and see if I can uncover another scandal for you! lol Meanwhile, why not multi map it? Was funny when I went to the London meet because I was on the tube and each stop was the birthplace of one of my Robinson ancestors! Daisy
