Normally best NOT to bother to logout - then when you restart you always get auto-logged in, If you logout it updates the cookie on your PC to force a login .... dunno, some sort of reverse logic there ! I think some of you havent picked up the new templates, different browsers, older versions whatever - try this Try deleting Temp Internet Files (Menu - TOOLS->INTERNET OPTIONS->GENERAL TAB->DELETE FILES (NOT Cookies !) Then logout and in again.... |

They could have made the Getting Started section on the Homepage more prominent while they were having their re-design! |

What improvements Name list now on 2 pages . ---- Writing on top of previous sentance. ----- New names added in last days needs a magnifier. ----- Leave a gap and maybe you can read it .??? ----- So what has impoved ??? |

I think they should make it clear the births deaths and marriages arent complete and are available at freeBMD. Now that would be good, if they had it fully transcripted and with a search facility like familyrellies. |

hi I have no man with moustache & no scroll at the bottom! I do have 'quick search' squeezed in between Friendsreunited dating Genes reunited & coming soon - & above home family tree search etc. . This does take you to Ancestry but no mention of ancestry before you get there! Waffling now - off for some caffeine!!! Penny |

Jim That was said a while back, when GC were playing with the clocks, they were putting it as American time and someone said perhaps they are selling to a American firm. Nah they wouldnt would they. |

It also occurs to me that the GR team have been letting the look ups for ancestry go ahead - but will that now be clamped down on. |

Is just me or are GR being a bit rude? I think they should have sent a message/newsletter to members advising them of the changes, why they are happening and what to expect next. The new changes seem OK although it would be nice if GR could negotiate a discounted rate for Ancestry. This seems to give Ancestry access to lots more potential customers but nothing extra for GR members. After all, it's pretty easy to sign up to Ancestry directly if you want to and have the money. |

Hi Kal, Ive managed to work it out, if you log out and then back in again it tends to go away. It seems to be related to those ads up the top, if they arn't there then you get the error, if they are then it seems to work ok.... bit of a nusiance though!!!! Tammy |

Help!!! Anyone else found that their 'trying to find' messages have disappeared - I have spent ages putting appropriate messages on various surnames - ie. only with the the info for that surname rather than a blanket message copied onto each board - since this update they all seem to have disappeared! I have emptied all my cookies and temporary internet files, and although I don't have a 'man' I do have the link to Ancestry. It's on my homepage, under 'Hello Twinkle' and a blurb explaining about BMD and census records. Now what would really impress me is free access, like American libraries have with Gale Group. Putting a link on (even one so blatently promotional) isn't actually that wonderful. |

I can't find the new names added in the last 7 days link anymore. As this is the first thing I look for, I regard this as a step backwards. Anybody know where it's gone? |

TO LOOK FOR NEW NAME MATCHES Go to the name summary page. At the top right hand side there is a box. It says something like refine your search. Click to get a drop down and you can click on the number of days since you last checked. You then have to wade amongst all those silly new columns to the one headed Matches in all GR trees. |

I used to check Names Summary every day. Quite quick just click on B & P to check my two main surnames. With the 'improvements' I now have to guess what number they will be on. A complete mess. MB |
