Well i've just sent them a stong worded e-mail saying I am not happy since I have payed for a service which they are yet to deliver. Maybe if others do the same, we may get some response. I have also told them that 'Hot matches will be updated soon' Is a very poor answer. |

Mine haven't been updated either! Ive been a member for 2 weeks now, and was told i'd get my first one within a few days of joining. Its been 14 days now and I should have had at least one. What is it we're actually paying for? |

What exactly happens when you click on discard when a match isn't even tepid? How do you get rid of the cold ones or even lukewarm ones to leave anything that might be warm (to look into later)or..promises promises HOT? I 'discard ' then and the dont go anywhere. Boomerang people - you chuck them and they keep coming back!! Jess x |

I've just had a look at my Hotmatches. They haven't changed in weeks! Wouldn't mind but the only matches are the ones I knew about already. |

What a waste of time! I now have 6 pages of hotmatches, all beginning with B or H. I have been going through them clicking on 'discard this match' at the bottom, each time it takes me back to my homepage so I have to go back into hotmatches, and find the page I was on, and it doesn't even discard the match - it is still there. I have given up, and will not be looking at them again. Liz x |

I did have success - a lady with a single hot match with mine - it was a dead end gggggg whatever grandmother for me, and she had the line back another 100 years! I now just need to verify it. Sue (in NZ) |

Answer from Genes re: Hot Matches that can't be seen: If a member has added their tree as a gedcom file and then removed it to amend it after the hot matches have been picked, then the entry will still show as a hot match but will not be accessible. The same applies if someone has added a relation but later removed it. Again, you will still see the owner name in the results but you will not be able to see the actual match. Our technical team are looking into this and hope to get round it soon. I am sorry for the inconvenience. |

Having spent a few mins deleting every one of my hot matches (easy because nearly all my Browns and Bryants were born out of the UK, so I could easily tell they were not the same people!) when they are updated, will I get the next bit of the alphabet, or will I get the same batch back again (A's and B's only)? I had some blank ones too......wozatmean? Merry |

What a total waste of time this is. I have place of birth on all my ancestors yet GR continually notify me of people who live in places not even remotely connected, and every time you 'discard' it returns to the homepage. I think GR should get their act together on this one and stop wasting our time. Yes I know I dont have to check it out but my natural curiosity to progress in my search does get the better of me and I think GR should revamp it. Grace |

Was wondering why I've only got matches for Millers and Hamiltons. Can't even give them a 'lukewarm matches' thumbs up. |

hi after reading this thread i thought it was time i revisited my hot matches - still nothing worth getting excited about! at least two of the 'matches' came up blank when clicked. What's that all about? Allie |

I'm with Sue on this one...personally think the whole system is useless. I have 700+ (a lot unverified!) people in my tree and have recently made contact with 4 other members who have various ones in their tree also I've not had a single hot match since they introduced it. Wont bother emailing genes though...am still waiting for a reply to the ones I sent them 2 weeks ago asking why I still can't export my tree off the site Lou |

four pages of surnames starting with A and not one match - complete waste of time. Just sent genes an email asking if there is any chance I would ever get the rest of my alphabet and why matches that I know are already on genesreunited are not showing - their response will probably the usual brush off though! |

No new ones on mine, just the two left from my 'culling' of the first lot. Kate. |
