Incredible that it can cause a smile to someone so very far away. What a wonderful bunch of people you all are.

Thanks everyone, so grateful for your kindness. It does mean a lot to me but sad too ............... I think I will offer a copy to the Southwark Archives (if I get permission from the cinemuseum!) Apparently I have to sign a contract before they will send it to me saying it is for personal viewing. Ive rung my uncle down in Sussex and he is 81 and was very tearful (he is actually a cousin but with my dad being youngest of a very big family - some of his bros were 24 years older than him). He has insisted that he pay for the videos as a present 'from your dad' and he wants me to go down so we can watch it together (his dad was the eldest brother of 8 (surviving to adulthood) and according to my dad, the one chosen to lead the dramatic chase in the film!) and then try to get some sort of reunion of those we can find to watch it altogether. As every brother was in the film, everyone present would be either their children or grandchildren. Wouldnt that be wonderful.

Heather I am sooooo pleased for you! I think I paid £20 to put my wedding video onto dvd so you must do that! How lovely - I can't think of anything better to have - you lucky lady! I lost my dad when I was 10 and my cousins have an old cine film of him with me and my brother - I must ask them for it one day! I can remember watching it and it was so strange to see him moving across the screen! Debby

Hi Heather Yes it should work on your VCR, but if you're getting two copies, why don't you take one to a specialist and get it converted to DVD - a lot of photo shops do it now - then you won't have to worry about losing quality over time!!! Looby

Just seen the news Heather - WELL DONE !!! Where and when is the Party ??? I think it will have to be a cyber one but we will have to be careful! - Anyway, if all else fails, let us know the exact date and time you will be having your first viewing and we can all sit and raise our glasses in unison. About £82 - what a bargain. I must get bloody waterproof mascara, look like Alice Cooper now and I have to go down to the bank. Oh, who cares.
