Hello all, Can anyone do an1871 & 1891 lookup please? I am trying to find info on James FORRESTER, born c.1860- 1870 in Staff or Notts, occupation coal miner. He would be married on the 1891, with at least one child. Hoping his wife's name is Phoebe. In 1881 he is listed as a lodger in Staff. All help is greatly appreciated. Thanks ever so much Gail xx

Confused about the Ireland in the listings. Isn't Bucknall and Bloxwich in Staff? Gail:O)

Gail I looked at the image for 1891 and the persons in household above James were from Ireland, enumerator just put 'Ditto'. Bucknall is Staffordshire, Walsall is a District of Staffordshire too, Bloxwich is a sub-district, see below! Copy and pasted this from ancestry: Walsall Created 1st July 1837. Sub-districts : Aldridge; Bloxwich; Darlaston; Walsall. GRO volumes : XVII (1837-51); 6b (1852-1930). Aldridge, Bentley, Darlaston, Great Barr, Pelsall, Rushall, Walsall, Walsall Wood. Registers now in Walsall district. Lib:))

Thanks Lib. Now just have to figure out who/when Ellen Hinks was married to before, and the granddaughter Mary listing is a stumper too. The boys were too young to be the dad. Think Mary is more likely to be daughter than grandaughter. This is from the Staffordshire BMD site. Think they might both have been single in 1861. Her name by the look was Forrester Too so the single one found in 1861 could be her. Marriages for 1861. FORRESTER James FORRESTER Ellen Stoke, St Peter Stoke-On-Trent 31/14/006.

How confusing is this lot MC lol I suspected Ellen was either single when she had James or married a Forrester!

I think the birth certificate for James or one of the other sibling is needed to check if her maiden name was also Forrester.
