Have posted on general! I do hope you realise how BRAVE I was to do that!! I have always been scared of General before and today's is only my second post on there!! So if I can do THAT, you can get that qualification and keep your job . Merry x

The Bag Report 16 Dec 2005 17:16

Merry -its not getting the qualificaion that bothers me- without sounding pig headed in can do the NVQ with both hands tied behind my back with a pencil stub clenched between my Buttocks - its convincing them to put me in for it - when i feel they are putting up so many barriers and going thru all this rigmarole! If it was a case of just doing it - why not just ask me to do it? they did - i said yes, then they said apply and we'll decide! I'd rather have my teeth pulled than go to this do tonight but if being a creep keeps my job, all crawl up his ass if i have to

I still think they are telling you there is someone else because it's the excuse they need to interview you. I expect page one of their instructions says, ''Interview All candidates'', but they only have one, which makes them look stupid! I didn't think you were worried about the qualification, but worried about your employers intentions.......the good thing is, employers always lie, so they have lied about the number of candidates!! merry

Could you offer to do bosses tree?? I'm sure there must be SOMETHING you could offer him that would cancel out the other applicant?? (LOL) is he the bloke who looks two ways at once, or lithps or something??? Or am I thinking of someone else?? Merry

Yvonne Report 16 Dec 2005 17:44

Hi Jess Dont know if you can help me but Im baffled! My great grandfather Samuel T Millership b1863, now I have a marriage certificate saying he married my great grandmother in 1893, and on the certificate it says he is aged 27 and Widower, and she is a spinster. Ive looked on the 1891 census and he is a lodger at 44 Miller street, Toxteth Liverpool, and on the 1881 census he is a son. How can I find out who is previous wife was? does this mean he married between 1891 and 1893 and no record of his first wife? (if you get what I mean). Any help would be most appreciated. Regards Yvonne

Yvonne - there are these two marriages in the right place at the right sort of times, View Record Millership, Samuel Thomas 1884 September Marriages Toxteth Park Lancashire This one married either Caroline or Hannah (both have surname WEBSTER which may help us ...or not) i cant find a death at all (in Lancs anyway ) for either a caroline or a Hannah Millership View Record Millership, Samuel Thomas 1891 June Marriages Toxteth Park Lancashire

Merry

Merry Report 16 Dec 2005 18:07

As he was a widower in 1891 aged 27, the 1884 marriage must be the one you are interested in...... The two possible spouses are Caroline or Hannah Webster (wonder is they were sisters?) Merry

Yvonne Report 16 Dec 2005 18:14

Hi Jess Thanks for the information, yes they could be sisters but the big question now is which one married him LOL The second Marriage in 1891 is my great grandmothers Edith Snowball, I think probably that his first wife could of died of illness or in childbirth and the baby as well might of died, we will never know. Many thanks for your help, perhaps a search around the graveyards yet again something might come to light. At least im on the track of them. Much appreciated Jess, thanks Best wishes Yvonne

There's no appropriate death on FreeBMD yet....the best way (ie easiest) would be to try Family Relatives (pay-per-view) as there's are fully transcribed for the period.....Oh easier way.....see who the other groom married........ (both bride's can't have died, surely???) I won't do it, coz it's jess that is bored! Merry
