Sorry.....I haven't read through thread as I am about to run out the door when I noticed your post.....DO be careful before posting to any site, in particular Ancestry. Although I haven't read their terms lately they may have changed them) it was not too long ago that their terms stated that when you post on their site there are certain rights to your tree that you 'sign away.' The fact that they can sell and alter your tree comes to mind and at one time once submitted, you could not remove your tree. As I stated above, they may have changed those terms from the last time I read them but do make sure that you read the terms you are agreeing to before you post your tree. Judy |

Ok, When you get to the point that you type in the file name, can you see a box at the bottom which says 'Save as Type', just under where you enter the filename? Open the box and select the option called GEDCOM[*GED] The file will then be saved as 'Name you called it.GED' If you go and look at the file using 'My Computer' it should have a little tree against the name and have the Type as 'FTW GEDCOM File' |

So you found privatise and export in the end? The little icon is a familytree symbol so that should be a gedcom. What name does the file have? |
