I thought you KNEW this bit: ''i was told ann was beynon before marriage'' (from page one of this thread) I spent about an hour and a half crossmatching marriages yesterday when there were no obvious matches....looking for mis-entered pages numbers, because I thought you had PROOF of their names!!!!! Suggest you wait on the cert for L L Thomas and then try again for the marriage.............. Merry |

merry, no worries, felt awful!! hopefully it will be here soon, xmas post and all that. jim, i did notice that one , its the only feasable one for rees but why would she be evans? i had this with my other side changing from one surname with an evans link. how confusing! the farming link is also good as i seem to remember someone saying there were farmers in family and not just the miners we knew about. thank you all so much, i feel like i need to check the whole of wales with this lot!! |

Login is an obscure tiny rural hamlet near the western boundary of Carmarthenshire, not close to Aberdare at all. So how come two women from Login are living in the same street in Aberdare? If they aren't related, it's quite a coincidence Esther's husband is Lewis Beynon, and there's a possible marriage in FreeBMD, Mar 1890, bride Esther Perkins. That date would mean that the kids listed may not be the kids of both parents, and the parents may have had previous marriages. One of the kids is a Jennie, though she's born around 1889 not 1899. If she's Esther's daughter that might mean she was born a Perkins The ages would fit for Esther to be Ann's mother and for Ann to have become a Beynon by taking her stepfather's name |

There are odd things afoot here. I can't find anyone living IN Login in 1881 or 1871 . BUT I have found several people (not surname Beynon or Evans or Perkins, who were born in Login, Carmarthenshire, but now live around Aberdare!) including in 1871 Margaret Couzens abt 1843 Login, Carmarthenshire, Wales Wife Aberdare Glamorgan I think there must have been a mass exodus! nell |

apparently Login was in Cilymaenllwyd parish. Looking through the parish in 1881, RG11/5402 starting folio 52, it's like every house has a name and the addresses given are just the house names, which explains why Login doesn't appear in many addresses. On folio 56 page 10 there's an Esther Perkins age 30 unmarried with a daughter Anne age 4. Anne's birthplace is Cilymaenllwyd, which fits, but Esther's is given as Llanboidy. There's also a 'servant' called Jane Perkins, 18 -- possibly who Ann's half-sister was named after So maybe Evans was Ann's father's name and her parents never did marry just seen your latest Jim, hope there weren't too different Logins, that's all we need |

same Esther in 1871 Anne Perkins abt 1807 Cilymaenllwyd, Carmarthenshire, Wales Head Widow Cilymaenllwyd Carmarthenshire Esther Perkins abt 1846 Llanboidy, Carmarthenshire, Wales Daughter Unmarried Cilymaenllwyd Carmarthenshire Jane Perkins abt 1864 Llanboidy, Carmarthenshire, Wales Granddaughter Cilymaenllwyd Carmarthenshire So this Esther was one of those lucky ladies who ages a lot slower than the calendar. But did she have 2 daughters called Jane, 25 years apart, or is the older one a niece? |

It seems Login was treated as part of Llanboidy but I can't find Cilymaenllwyd on the map. I think until you get that cert we are all going to be possibly barking up wrong trees! We don't KNOW that your Ann had a mother called Esther yet! |
