There are only a dozen or so Donlan's associated with Derbyshire on each census, but this is a false figure as some of them should appear on several censuses, but don't!! More names and dates please. I forgot to say......If Muriel is dead and died between 1984 and 2001 the the death I found is the only one! Am wondering though..........You make it sound as if Muriel wasn't your grandmother?? (only married to your grandfather......) If she didn't have his surname when she died then obviously this death (above) won't be the right one..... Merry

To find Muriel's maiden name (as you mentioned this in a personal message) you would have to look fer the marriage of Joseph Donlan in the Derby area around the time of your mum's birth, if she was the eldest, or earlier if her brothers were older. (it's not always easy to guess when people married!!). There's no easy way to find this, except trawling through the GRO indexes......Do you know what they are and where you can find them?? Merry
