Everyone Thanks for your time and trouble. Ian This Southwark lot aren't mine :-( as I've found them on other censuses, but thank you anyway. Zoe It's a puzzle as much of the road is on two adjoining districts, but numbers after 20 don't appear to exist and I can't find them on the existing ones. By coincidence when I read your posting about Eagle Wharf Road I thought sounds familiar. My husband's lot lived at some point in Mintern Street nearby and my grandfather lodged in Forston Street, off Eagle Wharf Road, in 1901. Although my husband and I met in West London, our London relatives seem to have been within streets of eachother at various times and places. nell |

I know it's not conclusive evidence but my main family line are all missing from that area in 1861 because the pages were destroyed. Not right next door or anything - they were Wilton Square which is the top end of Eagle Wharf Road in Hoxton - so a fair chance on the same enumerators route or stored in the same book as Whitecross Street. Doesn't help that they're missing but it reassured me that I was going loopy when I couldn't find them. Zoe |

How frustrating for you. I hope they turn up - I've just had a look with name variants - no luck, sorry. I don't doubt your capabilities, I just had a spare 10 minutes.. Good luck Sarah |

You certainly have my sympathy! I have had some help and have found a plausible, but mis-aged, Hannah BENNETT 1871, but I have several others in different censuses who just won't come out of the woodwork! Christine |

You have my sympathy, I have some missing from the 1861 who I think will never be found as I suspect they are in one of the 'missing' areas. But some rellies I thought I would never find on the 1881 turned up after months of searching, so maybe yours will turn up in the end! Kate. |
