Suggest you get the birth cert for Robert (the son) as well as the marriage cert .....Don't forget to check if there is an army service number on it for Robert senr.......... Maybe that army death isn't him so you might be able to eliminate it that way. Re guessing the parents births.........wait for the marriage cert! Merry |

Hiya According to Nans birth cert ; father Robert Platts a Corporal Royal engineer ( coal miner loader). Dosent say deseaced but then i understand that that it wouldn't nesesarily say that anyway. Mother Hannah formerly Henshaw. I did see a death for Robert Platts in 1916 but i wasn't sure if that would be mine. Having a look through the census i think that i could have a guess at the parents ( can't be sure until marriage cert come through) but - Hannah Hensahw 1887 Hucknall Robert Platts 1894 Cole Orton What do you think? |

Hi Yes Peggy is my Nan Am i being thick? How on earth did you find that info so quickly? I assumed it would be a case of trawling through 1837 online for all of the Platts born in the time frame & finding any that had Henshaw as a maiden name. I must be missing something here, but i must say thank you so much. Sophia. |

Just a thought.......You ought just to check that her father wasn't killed in WW1. I know this is ages before she was born, and his name is on her birth cert, but it wouldn't be the first time someone has named a long dec'd father (would be a reason for giving her up and would be easy to check and probably eliminate) http://www.cwgc.org/ Merry |
