Jess, before I forget, we were discussing Burial Deeds last week ? If you google Burial Laws , there are some great sites on the Burial Charter and how long you hold the deeds and your right to transfer them. Anyway, if you are bored, can you take a peek at this poser. Her goes. In Jan1851 John Webb widower married Jane Reeks, single woman. In the 1851 census,they live in Gt. Munden, Herts. There are two children Martin Webb b. 1846 and Cathrine Webb b. 1848. I assume these two are from John's first wife. Nearby, live Jane's parents. they live at Rough Grounds which is the address on Jane's marriage certificate.Living with them is their grandson, Martin Reeksb. 1847. The IGI records identify Jane as hismother. Now, I can find no birth record for either Martin or Cathrine Webb. They disappear from the other census' so I assumed they died young. I can find Martin Reeks born Sep. 1847 in the bmds. What reason woould there be for Cathrine and Martin not being found in the birth records. They are recorded as being born in Standon and I have also checked the surroundig areas. The biggie is, Are Martin Webb and Martin Reeks the same boy? I am so confused!
