hi merry i agree dosnt look like its him ? im going round in circles i thought if i could find his birth or one of the childrens then it would have given me the mothers maiden name then i could find the marriage but alas i will keep looking thanks again everyone for your help tracy x |

Are you absolutely certain it is Possie and not Rossie? I lived next door to a woman called Rossie. I found her on the 1901 (and she would have been livid to see herself mistranscribed as Bessie) She came from the Braintree area and there are lots of Rossies there. It might originally have been short for something, but by the late 1800s it was a name in its own right. |

Aaaargh. Just re-read your post, Tracy. If you've heard the name, you won't have misread it. But as for taxi drivers, no probs. I know a hackney cab driver who is celebrating his 80th next month. |
