Merry, Had a quick look at your suggestion and found it amazing as I didn't realise it was possible to do. So once again I'm indebted to you. I think it will be very usefull as I've got the same trouble with other ancestors and this may help me out. Take care and thanks again, Good Hunting to you, Regards Lou |

Hi Merry, Don't worry about last night - not getting back, I had to rush out myself as didn't realise the time and didn't sign off. But thanks for the info with regards to Ancestry, I wasn't aware you could do that. You certainly learn something new when you do FH. Once again I can't thank you enough for your time and trouble, it's really appreciated. Lou |

Sorry, didn't get back yesterday...... The 29 districts are shown on Ancestry. Click on 1871 census at the bottom of the first page, Click Warwickshire Click Birmingham Click St Martins 29 districts listed......click 'Description of Enumeration District' for each one and read the list of streets covered'..... If you find your street, click District No XYZ and view the pages. Obviously this may not find your family and even if it does, it probably won't tell you anything more about them......it was more a case of desparation!! Merry |

Hi girls, sorry have been at Tai Chi. Wow' you girls are certainly trying hard to help me out. Heather, sorry but not my Stokes. Nice thought though about Maria, I suppose it's possible, although the birth cert reads more like a Mourion than Marion, just had a thought, could be Maureen, what do you think, and with a London accent I suppose it could be misleading. what do you think? Merry, where do you find the Districts of Birmingham is that via the Geniuk web site or another? Lou |

Been away - we have a carpenter here doing some work and he suddenly asked me to look up his family when he saw me doing this - found them too, he was well impressed! What I was going to say, do you think she may be a Maria not Marian, Marion etc? Note the daughters second name is Maria. Ooooh, so near yet so far: Marriages Mar 1876 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cox Sarah Hammond Thanet 2a 1064 Godfrey Maria Thanet 2a 1064 PARKER Alfred Thanet 2a 1064 Stokes James John Thanet 2a 1064 |

Sorry Merry, I know how hard your trying for me, it's a real problem isn't it? I just can't make it out, The birth cert also states in the sub district of Saint Martin Birmingham, in the County of Warwick, if that's any help. Lou |

Oh Merry! you've made me laugh and I need that! It's so bl!!!!y frustrating at times, and yet so exhillerating. Right now it's a pain in the neck, seriously it is, my necks killing me! Went away at the week-end for leisure break & relaxation. The steam room didn't exist, the jaccuzzi was broke, the sauna wasn't mixed so me 7 hubby had no-one to chat to, and the pillows were terrible, hence bad neck. Going to stay home and relax next time I'm thinking of having a relaxing break, it kills you. Lou |

Sorry Merry your right. My mistake. I thought I'd found my Edward, earlier but obviously he can't be the same man. As you say Lily was born April 1870, so it can't be her father with previous wife, and her birth cert clearly states he's the father and Marion as mother. Oh dear, at a loss as can't find Edward and Marion at a later date and can't find their marriage. Any suggestions? Lou |
