Some members, myself included have 'lost' photos on their tree, below is the email GR sent back to me regarding this. Hope it helps......Heather x

Just had email back from support re: lost photos - 'I am sorry to inform you that due to our picture server erroring we have lost around 1000 member's photos. We realise that this is a real inconvenience to you having put in time and effort to upload them to our site. By way of an apology we would like to offer you a refund of your membership fee and give you a further six months free use of the site. We will shortly be adding Births Marriages and Deaths records as an addition to the Genes Reunited services and hope that this will be something you and all our members find useful.' I should add that GR have given me the 6 months free membership as stated in email.Thanks GR. So if your photos are lost it is worth emailing GR. Heather x

what are you supposed to do check everyone that had a photo still has ,it would take forever .I will be very annoyed if they have gone .

Margaret, when associated with a program like the BMD list on Ancestry, Beta means trial. It's more advanced than your average 'let 3 people check to see if we have no bugs' test, but they they add the Beta to show it has been through testing, and is now ready to use, but still contains some bugs that haven't had time ti be fixed. Hope that makes sense.

I lost my photos about 2 weeks ago got a reply the day after my intial email , and then another today they are very quick after sending one yesterday asking for a update Zoe

I have emailed GR twice Have had no email from them in return but have just noticed that I am now a full member until end of Nov 06 instead of end of May 06. Anne

Mandy, I had a reply following my complaint on Tuesday saying they would give me a refund and then yesterday they e-mailed me to ask for my address. TodayI received another e-mail saying: 'I have requested a cheque from our accountants department and you will receive this in the post shortly.' Maureen

Looby Go into 'my family tree' left of screen Your details will come up with a few tabs at the top, click on 'photos', as long as you have pictures saved in your pc, you can then select the 'browse' button and upload. Hope this helps PS: my photos are back on now. Heather x

Well all I get from GR is. We currently have a problem with the photo server which is why you are unable to view the phto's. Our technical team are working on this and have restored some photo's to the site. We hope to restore the photo's as soon as possible. Sorry for the inconvenience. By the way I have photo's( my Fathers side) going back to 1575 and spend weeks on adding those photo's on this particular tree. I have started on another tree ( my Mothers side) and am on a total standstill as what to do. In the mean time I will follow your advice Grace and try to get the same result as what you have got. Thanks . :)

I send a mail away today and got a reply similar as what they send to Heather. I,m still very annoyed though. I also would like to know when and how they will send me the refund ? I also would like to know if I can start adding my photo's again ???? Anybody had any luck with that ??

Johanna, Gr refunded the payment card I used, I think if you paid by cheque they will send the refund that way. Not sure about uploading anymore photos I have not tried yet. Heather (aka amazin grace)
