i know this is a long shot but i wonder if anyone can help with census this is the only information i have so far ethel maud catlin born about 1898-1900 her dads name was william they were either from little oakley or london does anyone think they can help thanks alot rose :-)

I can't find an Ethel or Ethel Maud, or Maud Catlin with a father called William. The nearest i can find to the birth year you give is one born c.1900 but her father is George. Kath. x

thanks for the help but i dont think she was from hertfordshire where is that ? kathleen her dad may have been called george as her second son was named george but everyone called him bill i wonder if that could be him pehaps his name was george william

Rosie- where is little oakley? where abouts in london do they think they were from Ware is very nearly london outskirts

my mum said her mum used to live in little oakley near clacton but after reading kaths mess i think her dad may have been called george.. when her mum ethel catlin got married it was in fulham and she had all her children there so i thought they may have came from london

kath said she found a ethel with the dads name as george if i knew what she had found and some names maybe i could guess

thanks the ethel with mum mary could be her as her first daughter was called rose mary ,ethel was married 1917or 18 in fulham to ernest giffen am waiting on cert but i thought i would see if there was any info before cert comes .i thought if i had some names then look at her kids names if they are the same then hopfully it would be her. my mum is still living but she can not remember anything and she is not even senile but because her sibblings had all settled down when she was born she doesnt know much thanks rose

she is dead she died in 1960 on death reg it says her age was 62 but my mum says she is older than that but she is the only one i can find on ancestry but my mum was born in 1937 so i dont think she could have been older
