i have just received email from genesreunited to upgrade i tried it and it is costing me £9. 95 i thought i was a fully paid up member when i rejoined in january what extras would i get if i pay up alice

That doesnt sound right to me... how much did you pay in January? (I paid for a years membership about a month ago and it cost me £12 for the whole year) Suzanne

If you look to the top left part of the green border, just below the Genes Reunited logo, it should tell you how long your membership has left to run. ie name, 'full member until' date. You can also check your account details below here. If you renewed in Jan you shouldn't have anything else to pay. Jenny

I think mine was roughly £7.50 in January (??). Did it ask you to click on a link? Have you put any card or bank details in via the link? I cannot think that this would be correct. I would contact GR as it could just be a strange mail originating from them (you could forward the entire email). I would type in the address from the site though - don't just hit reply in case it is some sort of spoof. If you've put any financial details onto a webpage generated via the email I would push for a very fast reply from GR in case of need to cancel cards. I've not heard of any phishing mails to do with this site though - just banks, ebay, paypal etc.

Alice, do you have just 1 account on here? Not hubby's or a dormant account of yours? I know some people do reregister for various reasons.

It's probably just a computer hiccup Alice. We all know how strange they can be! I'd get in touch with them just in case. Let us know how you get on :-)
