they do say you learn something new everyday. A little investigation into both his and her siblings may turn up a connection in Duham and she went off their to give birth - or it may be a work thing. But hold fire until you get their marriage certificate and you have fathers names to compare to zoe |

Eldest child being born elsewhere coudl be any reason. Perhaps he was apprenticed in his trade to someone and had to move there for his training. Or perhaps he simply had to go there for the work. I can't quite decipher his occupation - looks like Jet Worker - but to me that just says aeroplanes, but I'm sure someone else may come up with a more suitable answer. |

The marriage cert is the only way to proceed.......with all due respect to your dad, he is probably relying on info passed down verbally through the generations....and that can get distorted with the passage of time............ Reg |

So from earlier cencus could i find out if Nathaniels place of birth had changed??? |

Tracy | Report | 26 Apr 2006 23:30 |
I think thats my Dads line of though Kate Because they lived in Whitby then they just put that down. And as the eldest was born else where it's thrown us a bit. |

Well, I still say wait till the marriage certificate comes before doing any more research on the family, but sometimes birthplaces are wrong on the census, for instance earlier on today I was looking at somebody's ancestor who was born Ireland on several censuses but then suddenly changed to being born in the Derbyshire village where he was living at the time of the census! Kate. |

Reg. Thats the one we have and aren't sure of. If it is correct any ideas as to why the eldest daughter was born elsewhere???? My dad seems to think the family came from Durham thats why we weren't convinced the parents were born in Whitby. Tracy |

Based on year of marriage...this one in 1901 is a possibility, but you really need the marriage cert, as advised above, to confirm his father's name. Ernest Sanderson abt 1886 Whitby, Yorkshire, England Son Whitby Yorkshire View Record Francis E Sanderson abt 1884 Whitby, Yorkshire, England Son Whitby Yorkshire View Record Kathaniel Sanderson abt 1848 Whitby, Yorkshire, England Head Whitby Yorkshire View Record Margaret Sanderson abt 1854 Whitby, Yorkshire, England Wife Whitby Yorkshire View Record Mary J Sanderson abt 1874 West Hartlepool, Durham, England Daughter Whitby Yorkshire View Record Wilfred Sanderson abt 1892 Whitby, Yorkshire, England Son Whitby Yorkshire The same applies to this one......... Alice Arnold abt 1885 Whitby, Yorkshire, England Daughter Whitby Yorkshire View Record Annie Arnold abt 1891 Whitby, Yorkshire, England Daughter Whitby Yorkshire View Record Charles Arnold abt 1889 Whitby, Yorkshire, England Son Whitby Yorkshire View Record Edith Arnold abt 1887 Whitby, Yorkshire, England Daughter Whitby Yorkshire View Record John Arnold abt 1882 Whitby, Yorkshire, England Son Whitby Yorkshire View Record Mary Arnold abt 1852 Whitby, Yorkshire, England Wife Whitby Yorkshire View Record William Arnold abt 1848 Whitby, Yorkshire, England Head Whitby Yorkshire Reg |
