Hi Sarah just read this thread, and this is just to say I have found girls of 12 living away from home as live in servants, so maybe they are not all dead, just elsewhere Sue

Exactly Sue - I think that is the case for the girls However I did come accross these possibles for George and Harry. George Ernest Benham b. abt1868 d.1871 Oct-Nov-Dec West Ham Essex, Greater London Harry William Benham b. abt 1869 d.1871 Oct-Nov-Dec West Ham Essex, Greater London They were on the same page 43 :( so could have occurred at the same time. Thanks Sue, She must've had 11 children in all, & come to think of it, even most of the 1881 ones weren't there in 1891 (just 2 boys of 13 & 10) He was a postman & she was a dressmaker so I guess that's a happier possibility - that they all left home early to go & earn their crust... Going to bed a bit happier now :-)) Sarah (I'm from Devon too)

Oh Paul, That's sad - George's second name does look like Ernest on the census doc so it's probably them. Ahhh - I think I'm going to have to get the cert to see what happened... they were only 2 & 3 Going to bed a bit sad.... Sarah :-)
