Just to confuse matters; just found these on Ancestry BMD images; Alice Maud Hancox d. Jan QTR 1973 Bromsgrove (GRO Ref 9d 143) has DOB recorded as 8 Apr 1892 (which is far to young for her marriage !) Alice Hancox d. Jan QTR 1970 Dudley (GRO Ref 9b 497), DOB recorded as 28 Dec 1881. Alice Hancox d. Jul QTR 1970 Birmingham (GRO Ref 9c 813), DOB recorded as 22 Dec 1886 Paul

my nans dads name was john timmis thats what it says on the marriage cert angie x

hi mary yes thats it and have cert aswell also have my grandads death cert he died in 1932 aged 62 its just my nan whos giving me grief i think i will send for the cert for her birth in cannock,its the nearest any one has found i think that man who contacted me must of got her name wrong im still waiting to hear back off him angie x

There only seem to be two births with her name at around the right time: Births Mar 1884 Timmis Alice Maud M Newcastle L. 6b 85 Births Sep 1884 Timmis Alice Maud Cannock 6b 519 Newcastle L is Newcastle under Lyme. I just found your old thread and accidentally nudged it by posting on it by mistake, so it's now on the front page as well as this one.

hi mary i have 3 possible deaths 2 i found ages ago and iv just found this one frances alice died 4th quater of 1977 in b,ham born 11th may 1886 other 2 are alice maud died 4th quater 1972 in lichfield born 1883 alice maud died 4th quater 1977 in lichfield born 1893 have not found the second alice on a census with that birth year one of her sons also died in lichfield alfred gibson in 1999 its a real headache angie x

had reply from that man and he is my dads brother son and my nan was frances iv got tears in my eyes at last a result to my timmis quest angie x

my nan didnt find out her proper name till years later when she needed her birth cert thats why her name is alice on my dads cert and on her marriage cert frances alice timmis married name gibson born 1886 died 1977 god bless my nan angie x

have since found her death merry she died in 1977 and is buried with her daughter who had learning difficulties she was registerd in her birth name frances alice gibson(timmis) angie xxx
