thanks ann i had a threat on a few weeks back but ill try again now i have cert to prove the name is correct his name is william james catlin on his daughters marriage cert it says hes a labourer his daughter is ethel maude catlin aged 19 (year of marriage 1917) address at the time adeney road fulham |

Rosie I think I've found them. I'll give you a clue so you can see for yourself. I think they have been mistranscribed as CATHIE. William and Ethel and family are living in Widford, Ware, East Herts. I found a birth cert entry on FreeBMD for Ethel Maud in Ware Herts and so on the 1901 census just put Ethel 1898 with no surname and scrolled through till I found the Cathie surname. Looked at the image - it definately says CATLIN and the father is William. Only you can tell if this is your family though. Anne |
