Hi All, I have looked for my gg grandfathers death on freeBMD and Ancestry.com but can't find him. He was Joseph Hobday c1831 Rugby, he is in 1881 census age 50, but in 1891 his wife Jane is a widow. So he should be in an index I guess Rugby,Warwickshire. Or Lincoln where his widow was in 1891. There is a Joseph Hobday death in 1886 age 21 but this is a lad from another family. Anyone have any good ideas where to look please?

I sent for the cert for the chap in King's Norton but he was the wrong person.

hiya carole, do you have any other details on your gg grandad?? can i ask why was the death cert the wrong one? do you have a birth cert or christening record for him? if he born in 1831 you wouldnt geta cert Duh!!( me taling to myself) julie

Hi I'm a bit slow on here! Looked in 1837 on line. I have Acestry.co.uk so looked on full index. Looked for a burial on familyhistory on line, in Warwickshire and Lincolnshire.

Hi the death cert was wrong as name of his widow was Sarah if I remember correctly, and his occupation was wrong.

I have his marriage cert. I know he was a carpenter as was his father and his oldest son. So I would be surprised if he suddenly changed his job to become a needle hardener as was on wrong death cert.

Thanks I had seen Joseph Hobday married Mary Bayliss before but not with Jane involved. So I didn't know if that was the correct surname for Josephs mother who was Mary!

Do you know who put Joseph and Mary Bayliss on Ancestry one world tree please?
