I love reading these - so funny, aren't they? Can't think of any hilarious ones from my tree although I do have unusual names (not funny ones, though). For example, my grt grand aunt became FLORRIE JOLLY when she married. There's a whole VILE family (hope they weren't that bad!) - and I have some Greek rellies with unusual names (well, not to the Greeks) e.g. Elektra Markari, Frossoulla Markari (my gran - thank goodness Daddy Dear didn't get his own way to name me after her, bless!). NB - Paul - I raced off to have a look at that census page of the young chap on the vessel - yes, I can see what you mean...only I think his actual name is HENRY LUNT, not...well you know what LOL |

At first I was amused by the name by Sussex Ancestors adored for thier daughters.....Philadelphia Then my amusement changed to ta branch I have called COC*KS in Inworth Essex. The youngest daughter was named Minnie born in 1869 poor soul |

there are some real gems on the census just putting in the word comfort as a first name I found comfort clinkaberry and her daughter carrie comfort clinkaberry comfort chafer and comfort tsitt. |
