Its Insurance Department could arrange to insure the officer’s kit; the Income Tax Department could deal with his tax returns; and the Standing Order Department would ensure that his tailor was paid regularly. Cox’s also sent a cashier with a supply of money to every hospital ship as it arrived, to enable wounded officers to cash cheques.

There won't be any birth records as such as it was before civil registration. There might be *surviving* baptism records. Not all are online. Surviving RC ones tend to be held by the Diocese.

Have you identified his death? That might give a clearer idea of when he was born.

Can anyone help me trace the birth records of James Jobling. He will have probably be born in the late 1760s to early 1770s

On the 24th December 1792 he married Susanna Lambert at St Bartholomew in Longbenton.

They had 3 children: James Jobling 1799, Susanna Jobling 1801, Mark Lambert Jobling 1803
