I have just checked the marriage certificate for Delphine Georgina Stark and Arthur Eade both batchelor and spinster at the time of marriage. I was thinking maybe Delphine had married twice and William John Eade was her first husband, She has Swiss parents so thought could have married abroad but have eliminated this theory.

The mystery father of May delphine emilie Eade is shown as William John Eade (deceased) undsr fathers name and surname when she married William Val Miles in 1925. As the Mother Delphine gave birth to May on 7/5/1900 he must have died between September 1899 (9 Months before her birth) and 1/8/1925 when she married

So I have now found a William J Eade who died in the borough of Chelsea in 1917 aged 40 so this would tie up with him being the father of May. She was born in Bethnal Green.
