Do you have a copy of the MC? That should give the name of her father, if known.

When did she die? Depending on the year, the GRO index will either give her dob or her age at death.....as known by the informant.

Lancsbmd do list a number of births with Melling as the mmn. They are in Wigan, sub district Pemberton.

PMing an address for Ronald in the same town, taken from 2002-2007 ER. The property doesn't seem to have been sold - if they haven't moved, they might have opted out of the commercial ER
