An elderly woman I know has asked me if I can find her father's parents... She has done a lot of Charity work over the years... so would be great to find out this info for her. Don't know why she doesn't know who her grandparents were, really sad! Her father's name was: William Charles Hitching born abt 1890, perhaps 1898, 23rd August, in Hackney. She told me he married someone with a Russia link not sure of spelling of her name: Ekatrina Peschrova perhaps ? Would he be on the 1911 census ? Can anyone find this info, I've had a look myself in the past... (she asked me a while ago... but just seen her again today), but not sure who William's parents were ? |

If you give us her name and age............or PM it if you don't want to post it on the boards.......we may be able to find her birth and trace her father back from there. |

On the 1925 Register, he is living with a Kate - possibly a first wife or Anglized version of Ekaterinia |

His birth was 29th July 1895, she told me it was 23rd August, so, seems slightly wrong there. |

Hitching John C P Peschevro, how strange! I would have thought he would have the surname: Hitching. What's going on here, I wonder ? Thanks for that Astra. |

This could be the family in 1911 but I really think you need the lady's birth cert to get her MMN as there are two other men with similar names, one is a soldier in 1911 and I cannot find an obvious marriage in England or Wales: |

There is no sign of a brother Peter so I wonder if he could have been born abroad. William may have met his wife while he was serving in the forces in WW1. Just a thought. |

I think there was a William Charles Hitching who parents were: William Henry Hitching, and Harriet Louisa Cottrell, so need to rule these out if the correct parents are: William H Hitching, and Mary Ann, her surname ? Perhaps he remarried ? Thanks for that other info Astra, yes, Winifred is her first name. :-D |

Yes, he did meet his wife while serving in the forces WW1, they made there way back here... I remember her telling me this. So, do you think his parents were: William Henry Hitching and Mary Ann, surname unknown at the moment, but would like to find this too. |
