Hello Marg, Lancaster is a long way from Somerset so fairly unlikely.

Sister would be the relationship not impossible that it could be sister-in-law.

Most importantly, you say "i was useing a brilliant site a few months ago that gave you the info in 5 seconds for a cost of 4 pound, but stupid me dosnt recall the name of the site."

Was this a site with parish records?

yes i think so. im sure if i go through my credit card statements i will find who charged me....
well happy to loose Abraham Hardy.... :)
found someone on ancestry "Harle Family tree" who has just made a mockery of Mary Diment though,, has her having children to 3 husbands, 2 at the same time,
claims she is the daughter of Samuel cavill, and that she married isaac Dyment in 1799. i will work on that during the week, but im doubtfull.....
to get right info is hard somedays.
more i think about Rachel bond i dont think shes mine. but im really zonked now.
thanks all. :)

Chris Ho, the top Abraham is my ggg grandpa. and i have his death cert and it has same date and month but 1861 ! so there is a transcribing error? however if the census was after march he would not be in the 1861 census...... now im thinking... error is in the certificate! i think census are usually april to june in england?

this bottom abraham looks promising. for my missing man, as long as he dosnt belong to the other line of abraham yard in taunton. will check with Archie Needs, and see if he has this one.
thank you so much :)

Joiner index was the site i was looking at few monthas ago, i just looked for rachel yard, prior to 1842 and she hasnt married. so the Bond connection cant be her.
thanks for brainstorming to me..... :)

the first Abraham is my gggrandfather, who died middlezoy but his certificate is different to what online details are, out by a year... error in certificate ive decided.

this 2nd one looks hopeful. would somerset folk go there for work?

im going to apply for the death cert to see if that tells me anything. but somehow i doubt it, as if they get it wrong in 1862, they arnt going to have it right in 1848.

thank you folk :)

Thanks :)
Both Charlotte and her husband were living with Abraham at some point.
Charlotte was the witness to Abrahams death. So she didnt last long after him.
And it looks like Abraham from the 1848 death dosnt belong to anyone, so maybe i can claim him.... Achie confirmed to me hes not his line at all.

I did find he was living with a Peter Yard 60, and Mary Yard 20, when he was 15. in Wales. im asuming some sort of relative.

Thanks all for you help. i love this brainstorming idea. you win hands down against ancestry! with personalising help. :)

the son Alfred who is 19, has gone back to Yard in 1881 census. however every other member of this census form stayed Gard.

:) Chris, im just getting so surprised with such a easy name that isnt so common, there is certainly enough of them! ive seen this couple about but he is the wrong year. My Abraham would only be 10 at this marriage date. Even if the years were out by 2-3 dosnt make him old enough to marry. But i think this guy might belong to Archies family (his ancestor is Abraham 1787/9) Mine is Abraham 1777. who replaced Abraham 1775 when he died..... :) lol.....I am really leaning to the Gard line. the more i dwell on it, in 1841 census all was correct..... then in 1851 they were Gard, and kept going Gard till death.
I ve seen name changing before in my tree, and i realise its the way they spoke to the census collector, Freer has been Frear, Ferrer, and Free.... Cheney well i know one american family changed it to Chainey cause no one would say it right! Another line changed spelling cause they were in a feud.
Im just glad they didnt get these familys to fill in their own forms, or we would have a lot of X familys.....lol. can you imagine us all then?lol im waiting to here back from the Gard line on ancestry.
thanks for putting in where you find the info.
Marg :)
