Here's a link to a 1911 Montreal Census District Map which I have found helpful.

Click on the link below the page heading for the map.

http://jgs-montreal.org/montreal-map.html

The other links on this page do not work – all out of date. Probably were links to the page at Collections Canada that mgnv has posted.

The Lovell Montreal Directory is proving to be a great site.

I've been able to confirm a 1911 Census that I had found where the spelling of the name was incorrect but appeared to be the family I was looking for. I found the correct name/address on the directory which proves I have the right census.

Thanks mgnv for posting this.

MISTY - Although I worked in Vancouver for quite a few years, I've never heard of Cedar Cottage.
(The area's now called Little Italy as a result of immigration immediately post-WW2.)

Anyways, I looked up a page from the subdistrict you cited, viz:
http://data2.collectionscanada.gc.ca/1911/pdf/e001942244.pdf
There are several Cedar Cottage addy's there, but when I look more closely, they all say Cedar Cottage PO.

So I looked it up here:
http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/databases/post-offices/001001-100.01-e.php
and got:
Name of Office: Vancouver-Cedar Cottage
Establishment Re-openings Closings
1896-01-01 - -

Former Office Information:
Former Name Date of Change
Cedar Cottage 1914-07-31
Epworth 1909-03-01

Location - 3354 Commercial Drive
Location - 3354 Findlay St.
Location - 3358 Findlay St. - 1952-09-18
Location - 3528 Commercial Drive
Status - Sub office - 1914-07-31
Store

Go to: https://maps.google.com/ and look up: Findlay Street, Vancouver, BC, Canada

For Vancouver N-S streets, subtract 1600 from the street #, divide by 100, and discard fractions to get the Avenue to N, so 3358 is between 17th Ave & 18th Ave - pan google map one click left, and you'll see 17th.

Now everyone's giving their PO as their addy - maybe this area's only starting to get developed by 1911. Anyways, it's not very helpful for 1921 - what we really need is a 1921 city directory:

Using http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/electoral-atlas/index-e.html
we see Verdun was in Jacques Cartier (which covers most of the SW part of the Ile de Montreal). However, it's not there in 1921, but the map shows it was adjacent to Ste Anne, Montreal which straddled the NW end of the Lachine Canal, and that's its dstrict in 1921.

Lasalle runs the whole length of Verdun, so it's liable to be in most Verdun subdistricts.
