When I checked there seemed to be three that should have been on General Chat and three that should have been on FA or FLR. |

I fail to see how Graham's thread is non genealogy chat when it relates to baptisms, marriages and occupations of forebears? |

Hands up I'm guilty - Only because the issues concern members using the two Geneaology boards |

When someone is looking for possible living relations but doesn't give much background on what they already know or when the last sighting was I personally will look and post what comes up so I have a ref from which to proceed. |

I remember when Phil put that stickie on this board...An hour after it was posted I made a comment to a regular General chat poster who had posted a look up on here. |

In an ideal world all members would read all guidelines on site before posting but they clearly do not. |

To be honest, many regulars have given up asking posters to repost on a more suitable board. Although 'we' (or at least 'I') may have done so for a time immediately after the reorganisation, since then even if someone suggests that a 'look-up' thread is removed by the OP from General, someone else will find and post the relevant information. |

What you are proposing is the ideal but to some people especially new people it sounds threatening and can be construde as scary. |

How about emailing Natasha or Estelle to ask them to move unrelated-to-FH-research threads to the more appropriate board? |

It's tricky sometimes when someone posts on this board with a pretty general sort of query and then during the discussion they're asked for an example and it then turns into a look up. |
