Hello Kay,
Please don't worry - you haven't upset anyone - although it does look as though Piglet's Pal have removed their comment - tuts.
Looking up records is what this board is all about! There are many members from all around the world just waiting to answer queries such as yours - 24/7 and replies can come back within minutes.
Many of them are very experienced and are experts in knowing where to look so, if you get stuck in your research, please feel free to ask whatever you want and someone will respond to you - they are a great bunch of people.
Take a look through the board and the guidelines and you will see what I mean.
Good luck......Cx

Yes it does seem possible. My friends Nan was born 1905/6 and despite ordering ALL possible certs none are correct, her Nan never knew her exact DOB.
Kind regards Amanda

Hello Kay.
It is possible ? that your grandmother's birth, wasn't registered. I have searched long and hard, to find the birth of my mother born 1910. ......
With a lot of help given, by members of this help board. My mother was found, and a d.o.b. given, which, proved correct by her school admittance form. BUT I still can't trace a Birth Certificate.
Kind Regards. Margaret

Hello,
Sorry I haven't responded but I have an extremely busy job & this is the first opportunity I have had to log onto GR this week.
Thanks for all the replies which I will read in due course, & in response to PigletsPal's comments I wasn't aware that by posting in this chat that anyone would undertake specific research for me so I am upset that people have gone to so much trouble . I am very grateful of course for the information provided, and I do have most of this already; but my question was of a more general nature about births in 1907.
Kind Regards.

This was Kay's first posting, and she may not realise how quickly replies can appear.
I have sent her one of my 'how to find your replies' messages but, unfortunately, it hasn't been opened as yet.
Hopefully Kay will return soon.

but no marrige coming up for them
It would seem Jane took Harry into the marriage with her and he was known as Puxty.
Its possible she didnt register his birth as she was very young and may not have been at home. I have a relation born in 1904 who wasnt reg cos her dad was an army deserter and her mum didnt want to draw attention to the fact he had been home ! lol
If you know his mum was Jane and unmarried then it highly unlikely any dad would be on the cert anyway

Was his mother a Puxty or did he take that surname when she married?
Have you found him in 1911?
