I have a similar family in my husbands tree. They claimed parish relief before the kids went into care, and because of that I was able to find info at the records office under parish poor law. |

If you refer to the service record images, they can be seen on Ancestry. |

Kay, I just had a quick look but can't see that there is anything for the years it would be. |

I wonder if his poor eyesight ( which it says he had as a child but had worsened during service) may have been a problem in getting work when he retuurned to civilian life? |

Val. am sitting here looking up yr family. Have googled Lma and hammer smith and Fulham archives. Couldn't find anything.. For me to go to hammer smith archives I need to book an appointment. I can ring tomorrow and try and get an appointment but being open ten to four only is a bit of a bugger... I have written everything down so let me know if you want me to make an appointment. Kim |

Something else doesn't add up here, William & Grace were still together in 1939 - are on the ERs at 2 Boscombe Road, Hammersmith (and at various other addresses in Hammersmith since 1933). |

There is an unsourced tree on Ancestry, giving dob of 17/5/11 for Ethel, with parents William Buck 1881-1957 and Grace Adelaide Burgess ?-1941. Valerie has both these people in her tree, so I'm assuming it could be her tree. |
